The North Atlantic House (Nordatlantens Brygge) is a large historic warehouse, containing a cultural centre for North Atlantic culture and the restaurant NOMA, which won the prize for best restaurant in the world 2010 and 2011.
In The North Atlantic House you can experience art and cultural event from Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. The purpose of the Cultural centre is to promote awareness of the three countries' art and culture, and strengthen cooperation.
From 1767 the warehouse was the basis for North Atlantic expeditions, travel and trade. For over 200 years dried fish, salted herring and furs was unloaded, loaded and stored in the warehouse before the goods were sold to the European market. Greenland and the Faroe Representations Islands Embassy and other organizations with links to North Atlantic and Arctic, is also represented in the building.
