The property was originally built as a hotel for the visitors to the National Exhibition in 1909. Soon after the buildings were converted into flats. The spire of the tower has since disappeared.
The Skansen building complex is situated by Skanseparken, where the National Exhibition was held in 1909. The buildings are in red brick on a base of rough-hewn granite stones. On the lowest part of the facade and round the windows there are horizontal bands of rough-hewn granite and red brick. The neo-baroque and art nouveau inspired building has a rather complex character, further emphasised by the 7-storey corner tower, split levels and different balconies, bays and gable attics.
