A tour round and through the Frederiksbjerg quarter includes beautiful houses and a unique opportunity to see farsighted urban planning. The plan was drawn up in 1898 by Royal building inspector, architect Hack Kampmann and Copenhagen's city engineer Charles Ambt. Their aim was to create a quarter with public squares and housing complexes for different social groups, which would offer exceptional experiences and high aesthetic quality - and they succeeded.
