In 1983 the railway station was renovated and rebuilt by Arkitektgruppen Aarhus in collaboration with DSB's Construction Service.
The yellow brick station is built partly over the railway cutting, and the platforms are accessible from the main building as well as Bruuns Bro. The neo-classicist building has straight lines, symmetrical proportions and decorated columns by the entrance. The interior of the foyer has been renovated, but is still intact, while other parts of the central station were rebuilt in 1983.
