Kvægtorvet (the cattle market) used to play a major role in the life of the Aalborg waterfront, and was originally designed by the architect V. Hastrup. Today, only the walls remain as a fragment of the past, but planning for the reconstruction is in full swing. The original architectonic shape of the building will be preserved, but the building will also connect with the present and the future.
The new Kvægtorv will complement the area around Musikkens hus and Nordkraft, and will be used for markets and cultural events.
Currently, only the external walls of the hall from 1913-1915 are left standing.
