The building has been continuously changed. Recently Realea A/S in 2005 conducted a thorough restoration of the listed building.
The villa of master-painter August Jacob Christian Riise is situated in the heart of Frederiksberg.
The building, which today houses (is home of) Revymuseet, was originally built in seven symmetrical bays around a three-bay pediment both toward Allégade and on the back of the house.
In architecture as well as in volume, the building stands out as being nicely in tune with the surroundings.
The building was later extended by one bay to the North, when a staircase giving access to the first floor was added. The main entrance was then placed in this end. Furthermore, two attics were placed on the previously smooth roof.
The front facing Allégade is decorated with three reliefs and inside the house you see a fine stucco decoration as well as two unusually beautifully decorated ceilings which date back to 1860.
There is public access, since building today houses the Museum Revy. http://revymuseet.dk/
