The playgrounds at Munke Mose

The playground on the island in Munke Mose is inspired by the natural surroundings there: children can fly on birds, crawl up a gigantic tree stump, look out over the playground and slide back down again. The swings are supported by the flowers that grow along the River Odense (Gypsophila); huge dock leaves act as parasols against the sun or rain. Beside the playground is a much-frequented area for water play, where children can follow the course of the water through a detailed variety of channels and basins that show how water behaves in different shapes and forms. The fitness playground is a recently-added service to those who like exercise: the grey-painted steel exercise equipment is used by people of many different ages, both for exercise and play.
